KOLAS

KOLAS (Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme) is a system which evaluates the quality system and technical capabilities of testing and inspection laboratories according to internationally accredited evaluation standards (ISO17025 and ISO17020) in order to approve them with KOLAS accredited testing and inspection laboratories, which is an accreditation organization whose authority is nationally recognized. The test record issued by the institution is recognized to have public confidence. It is the system implemented as a means to improve test analysis capabilities and cope with technical barriers to foreign trade in developed country.

This is the agreement that the equivalence of the accredited test record is recognized among countries which have joined the Agreement according to mutual recognition between the test record issued by Korean accredited testing laboratories and those of advanced countries such as the USA and Australia due to the fact that KOLAS joined APLAC MRA with the international and inter-regional mutual recognition network.
