Methanol ( a major raw material for the production of POM ) has globally increased in
price by more than 90% since the beginning of  2010 . 60% of that increase was
incurred in 2013 alone . Market pricing for POM resin however has softened since the
end of 2011.

This unprecedented increase in raw material costs have forced Korea Engineering
Plastics Co., Ltd. ( KEP ) to raise pricing on all KEPITAL Acetal Copolymer grades
by US $200 / Ton.  The price increase will be effective from March 15th 2014, or as
contracts allow.
