KEPEX (the product name of PBT) is one of the thermoplastic engineering plastics produced by Korea Engineering Plastics Co. Ltd.


KEPEX molecular structure and polymerization
 
PBT is polymerized via the polycondensation of 1,4-butandiol with either terephthalic acid or dimethyl terephthalic acid.
 
 

KEPEX PBT resin characteristics
 
Good mechanical properties
Fast cycle injection molding properties based on high crystallization rate
Low moisture absorption rate and good dimensional stability
Good friction and wear properties
Good chemical resistance
Good electrical properties and minimal change with temperature and humidity
Good anti-creep and anti-fatigue properties
Good thermal property and offers long term heat resistance up to 120~130℃
Flame retardant grades are UL94 V-0 rate.
